Frequently Asked Questions Welcome! Get ready for the 2007 PTG Convention in Kansas City! This year’s classes provide a range of skill levels from basic to advanced and include demonstrations and hands-on training on a wide range of topics. Whether you’re just getting started in the piano service industry or you’ve been involved for many years, you will find the appropriate level of instruction to further your knowledge and expertise. You can choose from more than 80 classes, including 39 new classes that have never been presented at a PTG Annual Convention & Technical Institute — that’s almost 300 hours of educational offerings! Where will the convention be held? The convention headquarters hotel will be the Hyatt Regency Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Reserve your room accommodations early this year. The deadline to make your reservations is May 15. Participants are encouraged to call the Hyatt at 816-421-1234 or 1-800-233-1234 as soon as possible. Rooms at this special rate may not be available after May 15. How do I register? Register with a credit card online at www.ptg.org/conv/2007, by calling (913) 432-9975 or faxing your registration to (913) 432-9986. You can also mail a registration form with the appropriate fees (U.S. Dollars only) to the Piano Technicians Guild, 4444 Forest Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66106. Save money by registering before May 15, 2007. We accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover cards. Cancellations and requests for refunds must be received in writing by June 1, 2007. Click here to download a registration form. Can I get a refund if I register, but have to cancel? Refunds will be processed less a $35 administrative fee. No refunds will be made after June 1. Can I attend an Institute classes without registering? Only Institute registrants may attend classes. Spouses and children of PTG members may register to attend classes at the member rate. Registration for Auxiliary events does not include Institute classes. Can I register for only one or two days of classes? There are two convention registration options - one that includes all 4-1/2 days of classes and a special 2007 two-day rate for Friday noon through Sunday noon. All paid convention registrations include a free banquet ticket. Can I visit the exhibit hall without registering for the convention? Free exhibit hall passes are available for those not registered for the convention. Visit the PTG Registration Desk to pick up a pass or complete page 2 of the registration form and we'll include exhibit hall passes in your registration packet. Can I register for special classes onsite? If there are spaces available for any of the classes requiring pre-registration, you are welcome to sign up when you pick up your packet. Most of these classes fill up early, though, so pre-registration is better. Are the RPT Exams offered during the convention? All three of the RPT exams can be taken during the convention. Click on the "RPT Exam" page for more information. Can I tape classes or any of the convention functions? Audio or videotaping of convention functions is prohibited without the express written permission of the PTG Executive Director. Any taping of classes must also be approved by the instructor. Can I tour the PTG Home Office and the PTGF Museum while in Kansas City? Tours of the PTG Home Office and the Jack Wyatt PTG Foundation Museum will be Saturday morning, June 23. Sign up at the PTG Registration desk to receive a ticket for the bus. Space is limited, so reserve your spot early. |
