Depart from the Hyatt Regency at 9 a.m. and travel by bus to the PTG
Home Office where we will be treated to a personal tour by members
of the Foundation Board. The tour will be highlighted by the latest
acquisitions in the Jack Wyatt PTG Foundation Museum. Our journey
back in time will then take us to the Arabia Steamboat Museum
located in the historic River Market area of downtown Kansas City.
Explore the museum and learn how the handsome Steamboat Arabia
prospered on the rivers until it perished in 1856 and was finally
rediscovered 132 years later, precious cargo intact. This exhibit is
many things: history, ingenuity, tragedy, adventure, perseverance,
preservation and a tribute to the pioneer spirit. After exploring the
many Arabia exhibits, we will enjoy lunch together in the museum
restaurant. Time permitting, we'll explore the River Market area
(home to a year-round farmers market, unique shops and restaurants)
before boarding the coach to return to the hotel at 2 p.m.
Transportation, museum admission, lunch and gratuity for the driver
are included in the tour price.

Friday, June 22, 2007
The coach will depart from the Hyatt Regency at 9 a.m. and travel to
Powell Gardens, a beautiful 915-acre botanical garden on the eastern
edge of Kansas City. View an array of plants and perennials that change
with the seasons. Powell Gardens is a photographer’s paradise! Relax
by the charming Garden Fountains and marvel at the striking beauty
of the chapel designed by world-renowned architect Fay Jones. Amble
through the Island Garden, the Rock and Waterfall Garden and the
30-foot high Conservatory, or take the Trolley to see garden highlights.
During the summer months, a four-acre perennial garden features
over 50,000 annuals. We will return to the visitor center for shopping
and a ligh tlunch at Cafe Thyme. The coach will depart for the hotel
at 2 p.m. Transportation, museum admission, lunch and gratuity for the
driver are included in the tour price
